I didn’t use to always have the skin I do. In middle and high school I always had broken out skin. You know what I hated? Water! I almost never drank water. It wasn’t until I became preganant that I really started drinking water, and my skin thanked me. Since I became pregnant, I’ve tried my best to continue to drink as much water as I can. I know it sounds cliche because everyone says drink lots of water, but I literally hated water before and never drank it. Every time I don’t drink as much water as I should my face breaks out again. So advice number 1, is drink lots of water.
Aside from water, I’ve been really interested in trying different face cleaners and masks. I’m going to try to give a chance to new facial products at the minimum each month. To start, every girl needs to replace their make-up wipes with virgin coconut oil. Lots of make-up wipes have ingredients in them that not only dry out your skin but are unhealthy for you. Once I switched to using coconut oil as a make-up remover, my skin really started to glow. Not only are you removing your makeup, but in the process, moisturizing your skin. Make up slides right off.
The first product I’ve really been into this month is the coffee mask from lush. What I like about Lush products is the fact that they’re animal cruelty free. So far, Ive only used this mask on my face, but I’ve been told it’s great for cellulite on your bum. It’s a pretty thick consistency so you don’t have to use too much of it and it lasts a long time. All you have to do is apply it on your face, let it sit for a while, then massage it away. Instantly, your skin feels silky smooth. I love it!
Another facial cleaner I’m trying at the moment is the Boscia charcoal deep-pore exfoliating gel. I actually got this product by accident meaning to get a different Boscia product. What’s cool about this product is, as you’re rubbing it on your face, you see the gunk and dead skin ball up. You can instantly see that this product is working.
The last product that I’ve been into for a while is the Fresh rose toner. I spray this on my face every morning and every night. Rose water is so good for your skin! Rose water is good for your skin for so many reasons. Some of those reasons are: it helps maintain your skins ph balance, it helps fight acne, dermatitis and eczema, helps revitalize and moisturizes the skin, and makes it smooth. It also helps to heal scars, cuts and wounds, helps to strengthen skin cells and regenerate skin tissues. The list is almost endless. I love using this product on my no make up days. It instantly wakes me up and makes me feel refreshed.
Look into the ingredients that are used in your daily skin products. Most of them actually end up making your face worse. I know personally, I used to use a lot of products that made my face almost feel like it was burning, that should be a warning on its own. But overall, the most important factor is drinking enough water! Take it from someone who used to never drink it, it helps so much!
